Where is Talk of the Town distributed?
Talk of the Town currently distributes to over 110 locations in our Meadows and Rivers Editions at restaurants, cafes, professional waiting areas and hotels where people are looking for a light, easy read. Your ad will be seen over 10,000 time monthly (per Edition) by potential customers within proximity of your business.
Talk of the Town is a local publication dedicated to you, the advertiser, receiving great advertising exposure for a great price. Many of the people within the distribution point are unaware that they work, eat, and/or live close to many businesses that they currently travel elsewhere for.
Why isn’t Talk of the Town distributed over the entire city?
Cities are made up of what can be called “sub-communities”. Within these communities are people who commute, work, eat and live day-to-day. They are the most likely to utilize your services. What Talk of the Town aims to do is cut down excess circulation and costs for your business while advertising directly to the people in your community.
Our distribution is large enough for you to see direct results in your business but small enough to cut down on needless circulation. To put this into perspective, a customer will not drive from one end of the city to another just to get to a particular Seven-Eleven if they will be driving past a few on the way. We let you get the most out of our advertising while giving you low rates. Now that’s a smart business decision.
What are the benefits of advertising in Talk of the Town?
Talk of the Town contains only contains 30 spaces which advertise to our readers. A newspaper contains multiple pages and thousands of advertisements that one has to sift through to find a particular ad. Talk of the Town is only one page long, front and back, which significantly increases the chances your ad will be seen. We know your business will see results!
Our rates are significantly lower compared to other forms of advertising. For what it would cost to place a similar ad for one day in the Calgary Sun, Talk of the Town will advertise for ONE YEAR and reach over 120,000 readers near your business!
Oh, and while we’re on the topic, Talk of the Town won’t advertise for your competition. Period. Try and get a newspaper to commit to that!
Why does Talk of the Town encourage a three-month (12 week) advertising term? Won’t a week be enough?
Advertising in print media is about repetition. The more a reader sees your ad regularly the more likely they are to become a patron at your business. Three months is generally enough time for readers to notice and become familiar with your ad, and for you as a business owner to start seeing increased clientele as a DIRECT RESULT of advertising in our publication. With our low rates, the increased business you see in three months is guaranteed to be well worth your commitment!
Why would someone read Talk of the Town?
Talk of the Town is a one page publication that takes up very little room wherever it is read. It contains light, funny, informative and entertaining reading material that appeals to nearly everyone.
Unlike newspapers where one is pressed for time to absorb even a fraction of the content, Talk of the Town can be read front to back in the time it takes to eat a meal, get an oil change, or wait for your appointment.
People will actually go to a restaurant for the specific purpose of getting a fresh Talk of the Town – our readers are loyal and love our paper.

Is there anything else I should know?
Talk of the Town proudly donates 10% of its net profit to local charities. We believe that it is important to give back within the community you are involved in. We appreciate feedback from our advertisers on donation suggestions.
